When Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics sought to create a mascot for their pediatric and orthodontic office, they aimed to instill joy and education in their young patients' dental care journey.
Inspiration struck when Main Street became a sponsor for Taba, a lovable giraffe at the Miami Zoo. With "Taba," meaning "smile" in Swahili, it was clear that she embodied the spirit of Main Street's mission. However, the challenge remained: how could Taba be seamlessly integrated into Main Street's content creation strategy to educate children on dental health effectively?
With Taba as our muse, I set out to bring her to life through illustration. The whimsical Taba was introduced across Main Street's digital landscape, adorning their website and enlivening their social media channels. But we didn't stop there—Taba's presence extended offline, gracing posters within the office and accompanying educational worksheets designed to teach children the fundamentals of dental care.
Taba quickly became a beloved figure among the Main Street community, recognized for her infectious smile and invaluable role in dental education. From appearing in a larger-than-life mascot suit to starring in a series of holiday-themed stickers, Taba's charm knows no bounds. Through her playful presence, Main Street's doctors effortlessly share the importance of dental health with children across Florida and Maryland, making brushing and flossing fun and accessible to all.
